Technical Analysis

Structure

The JFZ series integrated silicon‑rectified alternator consists of pulley, rotor assembly with excitation winding and claw‑pole, stator assembly with three‑phase windings, rectifier bridge, built‑in voltage regulator, front‑rear end covers and bearings. Driven by engine belt, the rotating rotor generates alternating magnetic field. Three‑phase AC voltage is induced in stator windings, then converted into DC output by rectifier bridge module.

Application

Belt driven by internal combustion engine. Charges 12V low‑voltage battery and supplies power for lighting, ECU and other low‑voltage on‑board electronics. Widely used in ICE vehicles and partial hybrid vehicles. Not a high‑voltage range extender generation unit.

Manufacturing Challenges

First, magnetic‑circuit consistency of claw‑pole rotor. Minor magnetic‑property deviation will reduce overall generating efficiency. Second, stator winding process: slot‑filling ratio and inter‑turn insulation must be strictly controlled to avoid short‑circuit risk under long‑term vibration and temperature cycling. Third, high‑temperature impact resistance of rectifier diodes under engine‑bay thermal shock. Fourth, bearing durability: components endure continuous engine vibration and wide temperature range from ‑40 ℃ to 125 ℃. Fifth, EMC performance of embedded voltage regulator, whose electromagnetic noise shall not interfere with vehicle CAN bus and electronic control units.

Required Quality Documents

IATF‑16949 certification, APQP documents, DFMEA and PFMEA, control plan, full‑set PPAP submission, material certification reports, durability test reports, high‑low temperature & vibration validation reports, EMC compliance test reports.

Vehicle‑level Performance Impact

Insufficient alternator output will drain 12V battery especially at idle speed. Unstable power supply triggers ECU fault codes, sensor malfunction and unexpected engine stall. Over‑voltage output may burn out on‑board electrical components. Degraded alternator greatly increases vehicle breakdown risk. Reliable DC output is the fundamental guarantee for all low‑voltage on‑board electronics of ICE vehicles.
